I have been a Boys & Girls Club volunteer for 17 years. Because of my tenure and heavy involvement over the years, which includes strategic planning, I understand the importance of creating our own Boys & Girls Clubs facility. This facility will provide stability and sustainability for our organization and for the community. Thus, I am more committed to our Club and kids than ever. This project will be one of the greatest assets for our community ever, providing a place for our kids, empowering working families, and it will serve many generations in the future.”
- Scott Erchul, Co-Chair, Building Great Futures Campaign
"
Being a parent of two young children, I have a dream for the Boys and Girls Club. Helping to build a future home for the Club will provide a safe, stable place for children to learn and grow, as well as serve the overall community. Without a new building the Club would continue to service the children of Buena Vista, but a new facility will have a larger impact than we can ever imagine and really make BV a great place to live for children and families now and into the future.”

For over 15 years I’ve been working to try and get a safe, fun, productive place for our young people to go after school and during the summers regardless of their economic circumstances. As a retired educator, I know how much positive influence adults can have on a child’s life. Working parents who are not at home by 4 pm or are now working from home and can’t be disturbed until they’re finished with their work can be assured that their kids are safe, are able to get assistance with their homework, meet new friends, learn social and emotional skills, be creative, and become caring, productive and responsible future citizens. Buena Vista has grown and the needs of our kids are even greater than 15 years ago. We need our own “home” to ensure the success of next generation”
– Karen Dils, Emeritus BGCCC Board, retired teacher
This facility and the programming that will be possible because of it makes our community stronger. It will not only provide space to support working families through youth development and enrichment opportunities, but also help with the town’s recreational needs and provide a community gathering place.”
– Dustin Nichols, Facilities Chair, BGC Board of Directors
"
I’ve been the Executive Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County since 2013, and have had the pleasure of working with great board members, incredible staff and community investors who all want to change young peoples’ lives for the better. I’ve been privileged to see what our Buena Vista Club means to them individually. Collectively, our Club’s influence on so many young lives will pay off for our community, our state and our country for decades to come. Our Building Great Futures Buena Vista campaign will help kids become better citizens and give them a boost that will last a lifetime. Every day I get to experience the excitement of what a new Club – a permanent home – will bring to our Buena Vista community. I want to thank the hundreds of volunteers and investors who have enabled our Club Kids to have a “Somebody” in their lives that most of us had. It has been so much fun so far, but I can’t wait until the day we open our Buena Vista Club doors and say “welcome, welcome to your new home!”
– Brian Beaulieu, BGCCC Executive Director

"
My wife and I support programs that provide long term solutions to problems and needs in our community. As a result, our two main areas of interest are affordable housing and supporting our youth."

"
The Boys & Girls Club will serve as a safe place for kids to connect and feel inspired. With a teenager in this community, we are very excited for the opportunities that this space would provide. for kids who live outside of town, this will be a great option for them to spend time after school or on days when schools are closed."
